The Pestana Group entered into an agreement with the Jockey Club building owners, to make it a 5 star hotel that would feature 100 rooms. Rooms for social and corporate events, indoor pool, spa, restaurants and fitness center.

The Pestana Group, an expert in restoration of old buildings must retain the original style of the place and period décor, both in the furniture and uniforms of the staff.
The refurbishment of the hotel will begin in December 2013.

I live in the next block towards Plaza Independencia and I have always admired this gorgeous building. It will be great to see it refurbished and will become another landmark of the downtown area. Can't wait!!
